We are an alliance of California civilian oversight bodies organized to improve civilian oversight effectiveness and efficiency by unifying efforts to improve state laws, local ordinances, and administrative processes to address issues of state and national importance. We create an inclusive community to discuss ideas, best practices, standards, and principles for all to share.

WHAT WE STAND FOR
Tragic events from around the country intensified the public’s cry for greater police oversight and accountability. This alliance answers that call. The Department of Police Accountability (“DPA”) recognized that standing together strengthens and empowers each agency with a collective and amplified voice. The DPA founded this alliance to focus efforts, channel innovation, foster collaboration, and serve as a support network. We are a forum for positive disruption to the status quo. We stand for law enforcement that serves and protects everyone fairly and humanely. We stand for holding accountable those who abuse their powers. We stand for law enforcement that communities trust rather than fear.
